My mission is to help you ditch the overwhelm in your business by stepping in to take the day to day operations off your plate so you can get back to doing the things you LOVE (like taking long walks and dreaming up the next big thing)
It’s no surprise that life can be hectic for the modern day small biz owner. With so much on your plate, it can be easy to forget about one of the most important aspects of keeping yourself healthy and productive – regulating your nervous system. Here’s what you need to know to keep your nervous system in check as a Biz Owner.
Your nervous system is responsible for controlling your body’s response to both internal and external stimuli, from physical touch and other senses to emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It works by sending messages between your brain and all other parts of your body via neurons. Keeping this sensitive system in check has a huge impact on how you feel and perform as a business owner.
If you own a small biz you know stress is an inevitable part of owning a business. It doesn’t have to take over though. The first step in keeping stress at bay is learning how to identify when it’s happening and why it’s happening. Maybe there are certain tasks or conversations that trigger feelings of anxiety. Or maybe there are particular clients or situations that make you tense up. Maybe there are outside factors such as family challenges or a toddler at home who wakes every 2 hours at night. Just knowing how many emails you have to respond to can be triggering for some. Whatever it is for you, recognizing the sources of stress will better help you keep your nervous system in check as a Biz Owner and equip you to manage it before your stress and anxiety take over completely.
Sounds Cliché, I know. But trust me on this one. As a Business Owner, once you understand what triggers tension for you, the next step is finding ways to recenter and refocus. This could include anything from taking a midday break for some exercise or taking a long lunch to grab lunch with a friend to clear your head. Music can also be sooo helpful. If you’re feeling stressed over starting a new project, switch up your music and zone in on the first task at hand. Experiment with different methods until you find something that works for you!
