My mission is to help you ditch the overwhelm in your business by stepping in to take the day to day operations off your plate so you can get back to doing the things you LOVE (like taking long walks and dreaming up the next big thing)
When it comes to having a blog, if that is for business, as a hobby or business in its own right, you are bound to want to know what you could be doing to make your blog stand out from the crowd. Years ago, mentioning the world blog would have had you faced with confused faces. These days it seems everyone has their own blog for something, so it can feel like you are swimming in a very big one. But there are things you can do to make your blog better. I thought I would share with you what some of them are.
One of the first things to think about when it comes to your blog is to look at the kind of content you are sharing. Is it what you love to talk about? Do you feel passionate about it? The truth is, if you don’t have any enjoyment towards what you are blogging about, then this will be evident in the content. Whether you love to share art galleries showcasing beautiful collections like Virtosu’s Art or you have a parenting blog and you share your experience as a new mum or dad, write about what you love and the passion in your writing will shine through. This will entice people to come back time and time again.
As a blogger it is important to be unique to you and so you need to have your own voice when it comes to the blog content you create. In theory, bloggers don’t need to be very specific with the content, and they can write as they speak. As long as the grammar is correct and the spelling is spot on, then a blog is designed to be a little more down to earth in terms of content, compared to the formal writing you can read in brochures or on more serious websites.
You have to be your own marketeer when it comes to your blog and promotion is key for ensuring that your blog posts are seen. Thinking about using keywords and checking over the content for search engine optimisation would be advisable. You may also want to be consistent on social media so that when you do have a new post to promote those posts will also be seen by your engaged audience.
There is no point wanting to take your blog to the next level if you are not prepared to invest in you. You are the key ingredient to making this blog a success, and so take the time to believe in yourself and what you produce.
Finally, while content is king you also need to be consistent in the way that you do things. Blogging to a schedule is a great way to keep things going and to also remind you to keep on producing the good work. However, if it is starting to feel forced perhaps think about the amount of content you create because quality is also a key ingredient to success.
I hope that these tips help you to make your blog better.
